5 Best Robot Vacuums for Garage Floors, According to Experts

Your garage floor is one of the surfaces that requires the most attention. Between the dust stuck on car tires, DIY project mishaps, and pet mess, cleaning will seem like a never-ending job.

That’s why you need some help to alleviate the load of cleaning. And what else should you choose besides a smart robot vacuum that can carry out the task without getting your hands dirty? Now we will tell you about 5 best robot vacuums for garage.

The thing is, though: you can’t just pick the first one you come across since not all of them live up to their marketing hype. So, to help you make the best decision, I’d like to share a list of the best robot vacuums for garage floors. Without wasting more time, let’s get started.

Can You Use A Robot Vacuum For A Garage?

Yes, you can use a robot vacuum for a garage as long as the vacuum is suitable for the environment and can handle the size and layout of your garage. Some robot vacuums are designed specifically for use in garages and other industrial settings, while others may be more suited for indoor use.

Features to Consider While Buying a Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Garage

When choosing a robot vacuum for your garage, consider the following factors:

  1. Type of flooring: If your garage has concrete flooring or other rough surfaces, make sure the vacuum you choose is designed to handle these surfaces.
  2. Size of the garage: Consider the size of your garage and the coverage area of the robot vacuum. Some models may not be able to cover larger garages in a single cleaning cycle.
  3. Features: Look for a robot vacuum with features that are suitable for your needs, such as dustbin capacity, battery life, and scheduling options.
  4. Price: Robot vacuums designed for industrial use may be more expensive than those designed for indoor use, so be prepared to invest accordingly.

List of 5 Best Robot Vacuums for Garage

iRobot Roomba i7+

iRobot Roomba i7+ (7550) Robot Vacuum with Automatic Dirt Disposal - Empties Itself for up to 60 days, Wi-Fi Connected, Smart Mapping, Works with Alexa, Ideal for Pet Hair, Carpets, Hard Floors, Black

Let’s start our list with one of the top-tier robot vacuums, the Roomba i7+. If you’ve been on the hunt for a robot vacuum, the chances are you’ve already witnessed the high number of positive reviews on almost all iRobot devices. That’s because most of their robots are high quality, and the Roomba i7+ is no exception.

Starting with its overall design. The Roomba i7+ boasts a stylish glossy design that can fit anywhere you put it. It also packs some remarkable features, such as vSLAM technology.

This technology uses a camera to accurately map your house. Also, thanks to its front-mounted laser sensor, this robot can navigate around obstacles amazingly well.

Additionally, the Roomba i7+ is designed with dual-beam cliff sensors, keeping it from falling down stairs or other possible drops.

In terms of cleaning performance, the Roomba i7+ has one airflow setting of 17 CFM. While it may appear a bit low for some of you, the cleaning performance was fantastic.

This is mostly made possible by the new brush roll design, which lets the robot interact better with the surface.

Automatic dirt disposal is another convenient feature of the Roomba i7+. Each time the robot vacuum returns to its charging base, it empties its dust bin.

In addition, the dock station’s bag can hold up to 60 days’ worth of debris.

What could have been better?

If budget is your primary concern, you better shift your focus to other robot vacuums in this list. That’s because the Roomba i7+ is more on the expensive side of things.

Furthermore, the Roomba i7+ struggled to clean edges and corners. I’ve also noticed that its dust bin measures only 0.5 liters, smaller than its predecessors’ dust containers.

Shark AV2501S

Shark AV2501S AI Ultra Robot Vacuum, with Matrix Clean, Home Mapping, 30-Day Capacity HEPA Bagless Self Empty Base, Perfect for Pet Hair, Wifi, Works with Alexa, Black

When it comes to household cleaning appliances, the Shark brand has a solid reputation. Most homeowners are familiar with this brand’s devices, as they’re often top-notch and meet customers’ expectations. And today, we’ll introduce you to Shark’s powerful robot vacuum, the Shark AV2501S.

A self-emptying robot vacuum is rapidly gaining popularity since it needs substantially less hands-on maintenance than regular vacuums. And that’s one of the things that I like about the Shark AV2501S. Besides, despite its impressive features and self-cleaning base, it is reasonably priced.

The Shark AV2501S has a matte-finish hard plastic construction, giving it a sleek and stylish look. It weighs around 6.86 lbs, which is pretty lightweight. The robot provides fantastic cleaning performance on rugs as well as hard floors.

This makes it a great option not only for your garage floor cleaning but also for everyday vacuuming.

The Shark AV2501S has two side brushes in addition to a brush roll. The side brushes did an excellent job of moving dirt, debris, cereals, etc., toward the brush roll, allowing it to vacuum up everything in its path.

Another thing that is worth noting is that the Shark AV2501S outperformed the Roomba i7+ at cleaning edges. Though it wasn’t perfect in terms of clearing corners, it didn’t shock me since it’s pretty much the same for most rounded vacuums.

What could have been better?

The Shark AV2501S’ performance at sucking up long hair was terrible. That’s because most of the hair it vacuumed was trapped on the brush roll (again).

Roborock S7

roborock S7 Robot Vacuum and Mop, 2500PA Suction & Sonic Mopping, Robotic Vacuum Cleaner with Multi-Level Mapping, Works with Alexa, Mop Floors and Vacuum Carpets in One Clean, Perfect for Pet Hair

If your garage floor has damp patches, a regular robot vacuum won’t be of much use. This is because dust and debris are more likely to get trapped there, making them hard to lift off. And that’s where the Roborock S7 comes in handy.

The Roborock S7 is a 2-in-1 robot that simultaneously mops and vacuums the house, leaving you with a spotless floor.

The Roborock S7, unlike the Roomba i7+, utilizes LIDAR navigation. It is more accurate than vSLAM and can work perfectly well in the dark.

Like any advanced robot vacuum, the Roborock S7 boasts a user-friendly mobile app packed with helpful features.

Some of these functionalities include no-go zones, a cleaning and mopping schedule, and, most importantly, real-time progress. The latter allows you to be updated on everything about the robot vacuum’s progress.

Furthermore, the Roborock S7 has significant enhancements over its predecessors. For instance, it has a larger dust bin and an improved brush roll.

The larger dust bin reduces the number of times the robot returns to the dock station. On the other hand, the brush roll allows the vacuum to suck up everything in its path more effectively.

Moreover, the mopping performance is as good as the vacuuming one. This is primarily due to the metal lever, allowing the robot to remove even the most stubborn stains.

What could have been better?

Although the Roborock S7 is one of my favorite robotic vacuums and mops, there are some points that I am not a fan of. For example, I dislike the fact that its charging dock is sold separately, as it lowers the total return on investment.

Furthermore, if you have pets who shed a lot, you will need to check the brush roll of the robot on a regular basis. That’s because, during the test, we noticed that the Roborock S7 struggled with tangles.

Roborock S4 Max

roborock S4 Max Robot Vacuum with Lidar Navigation, 2000Pa Strong Suction, Multi-Level Mapping, No-go Zones, Ideal for Carpets and Pets Robotic Vacuum

When investing in a robot vacuum, you want to make sure it can do its job properly. That means being able to clean not just your garage but also the rest of the house. If this sounds like something you are looking for, then the Roborock S4 Max is your best bet.

Unlike the Roborock S7, the Roborock S4 Max is a robot vacuum without the mopping feature. However, it does a wonderful job of eliminating all types of dirt, dust, pet hair, and so on. It also uses LIDAR navigation to map the house.

During the test, it navigated around obstacles like a champion. It didn’t bump or move objects, which aided in preventing scratches and also cut down on time the robot needed to clean the floor.

The Roborock S4 Max is surprisingly quiet, producing 63 dB at maximum power and 61 dB at low power. It also has a remarkably long runtime of 180 minutes, much longer than other robots from the competition.

Let’s take the Neato D7 as an example. Even though this robot costs a lot more than the Roborock S4 Max, it has an average runtime of 120 minutes.

The cool thing about long battery life is that it allows the robot to clean the whole house in a single cleaning cycle.

What could have been better?

Just like the Roomba i7+, the Roborock S4 Max wasn’t as good as we would have liked at cleaning edges. It felt like it could have been better.

In addition, the Roborock S4 Max did poorly at collecting long hair. The majority of the hair it sucked was trapped at the brush roll.

RoboVac 11S

eufy by Anker, BoostIQ RoboVac 11S (Slim), Robot Vacuum Cleaner, Super-Thin, 1300Pa Strong Suction, Quiet, Self-Charging Robotic Vacuum Cleaner, Cleans Hard Floors to Medium-Pile Carpets

I get it. You want your garage to be so clean that someone could eat off the floor. However, you don’t have the budget for a robot vacuum that costs a fortune. Don’t worry, I feel you. That’s why I want to introduce you to the RoboVac 11S. A robot vacuum that will look like it was custom-made for you.

First and foremost, the RoboVac 11S has excellent cleaning performance that is equal to other, pricier robots from other brands. At high power, it achieved an airflow of 15 CFM, enough to pick up cereals, dust, debris, and so on from hard floors and carpets.

It also offered quiet operation at just 66 dB at high power and 56 dB at low power. Because the RoboVac 11S lacks WIFI, you can’t monitor it via a mobile application. Instead, it has a remote control with several handy features that will make cleaning a breeze.

Via the remote control, you can enable the BoostIQ feature that lets the robot vacuum operate at low power on hard surfaces and high power once it detects a carpeted area. This functionality not only improves cleaning but also helps save battery life.

When enabling this feature, the RoboVac 11S had almost the same operation time as when set on low power, around 109 minutes.

The remote control also enables you to schedule cleaning or use one of the pre-programmed modes, such as edge cleaning, spot cleaning, and spiral pattern. You can also use directional buttons to manually control the robot in case it misses certain spots.

What could have been better?

Since the RoboVac 11S uses random navigation, it can’t keep track of the areas it has already covered. As a result, the robot only returns to its charging dock when it runs out of energy.

Furthermore, the remote control only allows for time schedules, not day schedules. In other words, the time you set for the RoboVac 11S will be applied every day of the week, including weekends.

Conclusion

No matter which robotic vac you go with, you can be sure that your garage floor will be spotless. All the robots mentioned above have performed exceptionally well on both carpets and hard floors. Now, all that’s left is to identify your budget and choose the one that works best for you.

If you’ve decided on one of these vacuums, we’d appreciate it if you could tell us which one you choose and which features are most important to you.

With that said, we hope you find value in this buyer’s guide. Don’t forget to leave us a comment telling us what you think about these robots as well as your experience in case you’ve already owned one.
